I recently purchased a Pentax K10 D after doing a lot of looking at all the DSLR's out there. The main reason for my choice is that of all the cameras I have owned through the years my old SP1000 still works and has been a reliable workhorse. Its been wet, fell off a 100 foot cliff (it was wrapped in a T shirt inside a backpack), and bounced around on the back of my motorcycles for many a long ride and has survived 2 crashes. I just threw away a Nikon film SLR that broke after getting wet. I don't believe an SLR should be a disposable product that needs to be replaced every couple of years. This is my first digital SLR so I have much to learn and this forum looks like a good place for information and advice.
