Hello everyone, I'm new to this site, and new to owning a DSLR I have the Pentax K-x with the 18-55mm lens, I love photography and hope to grow and learn how to take some great photos with my camera, I am a SAHM to 4 kids and hopefully having an SLR will help the money I used to spend on getting there pictures done alot less..lol.

Welcome aboard, Amie. With 4 kids you should have an endless stream of photo opportunities, in many cases, kid snaps. It is a good place to start. I did have to look up SAHM. Congratulations on that decision. Shoot and post, we are a friendly bunch here.....Cliff

Welcome to the forums, Amie. Some of us here may try to convince you that you need more / better lenses, but just ignore us. You can do wonders with what you already have. A useful tool for capturing images of speeding youngsters is a good flash, and knowing how to bounce it. Or just use my Dad's method: We'd run around, he'd say "HEY!", we'd stop for a moment, he'd shoot, and we'd continue with our mayhem. I guess that's social engineering. It works!

Welcome to the forum, Amie. As a grandpa of two little ones, I know how much fun it is to try to get some good shots, but they move fast!
