Howdy from Calgary!

Gosh where does a person start.... bought my K5 in May of this year, and have succumbed to the LBA, which led me to this forum. Lots of interesting topics and even more interesting pictures. Thanks for having me.

Welcome aboard, Liz. Since you have had the tool, K5, since May and already have LBA, let us see some or your photos.. We are a friendly bunch here and mostly harmless as long as we get a regular fix of fresh photos....Cliff

Welcome Liz! There are quite a few Calgarians here on the forum but seems I rarely ever see a "Pentax in the wild" so to speak in the city.

thanks for the welcome Joseph and Cliff.

Its true, I hardly ever see anyone with a Pentax at the bird sanctuary or other parks. Its such a nice day thinking of heading out to try the lenses I scored this week.

Welcome aboard! You have LBA? We can help. Help you choose more lenses, that is. You can never have too many lenses. Cheers!

Welcome, near neighbour! LBA will never, never, NEVER go away. Just leave enough money for the rent and the food, the rest is for lenses.

Thanks for the welcome RioRico and Albert. Some folks take such great pictures - me, still learning. Sometimes I wonder if I haven't turned this investment into the worlds most expensive point and shoot. ;^)

Liz, enough already, Let's see some photos of those pictures of opportunity running around the lair. Or what ever else you may have had opportunity to shoot. If you are having doubts that your photos are good enough, not to worry we all had the same thoughts and doubts, ie, who will want to look at my stuff ? We all do!!!! Now shoot and post!!!! Cliff

I second the motion presented by Cliff. Go for it. We all started somewhere. Quite often, posting an image will result in a breakthrough moment with the suggestions you receive to improve the next picture.

Welcome Liz, and welcome to the wonderful world of LBA. As suggested, I'd agree to start slow with the purchases and go hard on the picture-taking. You'll know with time which lenses you want, and get the best out of them.

Ash, just in case you aren't familiar with the word; "howdy" is cowboy for g'day.

Well, if you insist.... odd thing is that the pictures were taken using the kit lens that came with the camera, and they are the ones that I am most pleased with.

Liz, no start up problems there. You just need to keep snapping away and showing them to us.

See, that wasn't so difficult. Appears you have an eye for catching things of interest, cute cat, sharpe. The ships wheel and the rest are nice. I think you mentioned some highly mobile targets, kids, we look at kids too, I kind of gravitate towards grandkids. Anyhow good start keep them coming. You can even start a new thread under Post Your Photos.......... Cliff
