Hope you all are starting a great week. Photography has been a long-time hobby for me, and I actively shoot both digital and film. I work in the IT industry

Last weekend I purchased a K1000 with a jammed 50mm F2 lens, at Goodwill for $8.00. Focus is set permanently on Infinity, and will not budge. Oh well. The body looks weathered on the outside, but is nice and clean inside; all functions appear to work correctly. Will be getting another lens for it off eBay soon. Looking forward to trying it out.

Welcome to the forums, and your new-old K1000. You should be able to find a 50mm f/2 in good working condition for pretty cheap, or something faster for reasonably cheap. Check the Marketplace here.

Welcome to the forum, Kurt. I know that there is also a lot of Pentax stuff on the Vancouver, Victoria and Seattle craigslist sites. Sample today - seattle photo/video classifieds "pentax" - craigslist

I've had a few goodwill duds in my day, but several great keepers too; very little loss and ??? to be gained! In the bargain 50 department, I've found Sears and Rikenon to be excellent deals, currently using a 50/1.4 with Sears label and Rikenon-XR styling.
