Greetings from Chicagoland

I came upon the forum thru a google search. I am new to dslr photography! I recently purchase a new Pentax K-r because my daughter bought a Pentax K-x a year ago and I just love the ease of using it and the quality of the photos that it takes. I have read thru many of the post here and found this a place that I can certainly learn from and already have gotten great info. I hope any questions I may have in the future won't be considered dumb as I said I am a novice wanting to make photography an enjoyable past time as I now have time to enjoy.

Welcome to the forums. The only dumb questions are those not asked. Or trolls, but ta hell with'em. Ask away. The more questions you ask, the more answers we'll have, some of them even rational. Cheers!

I'm kind of in the Chicago area too. It's getting cold, so hopefully you can find some good subjects to photograph without having to freeze.

Good luck with the new camera.
