Hello from California

Hi. I just recently purchased a Spotmatic SP II with a few lenses (super-multicoated-tak 50 1.4, super-tak 35 3.5, super tak 135 3.5). This is my first film camera and I'm looking for a support group.

In the digital world I own a Canon 60d and 24-105 f4 lens.

That's a great camera and lens combo! I have the same lenses, plus a SMC-Tak 28mm/3.5 and a Tak 300/4.

You'll really enjoy that camera, and you can also get an M42 adapter for EOS to mount your Taks on the Canon, if you want.

Yeah, I've only taken one roll but I love it. I'm kind of a wide angle whore, so I'm hoping to get something like the 28mm tak or maybe a 24mm (the Tak is out of my price range so maybe the Tamron 24mm 2.5 adaptall?). At any rate, my first roll (taken on Ilford HP5):

Asahi Pentax Spotmatic SP II - a set on Flickr

I was quite surprised by the amount of grain... not necessarily in a bad way.

Those are some good lookin' photos! What kind of film were you using?

For a 24mm, I'm not sure what to suggest for an M42 camera. Sigma's K-mount 24/2.8 is wonderful, but I've no idea if there's a Screwmount version.
