I'm the new guy....

Hi all,

JFN here, I'm a Swede stuck in the south of France, newbie on photography but eager to learn.

I got myself a K-r some weeks ago and in addition to the 18-55 kit lens I also grabbed a used F 35-70 for cheap which I really fell in love with right away!!

My first series of pics that I've so far had the time to publish are up on flickr here:

Nice forum, I've been here as a guest user for some weeks and now finally created an account to join you all in the discussion!

Cheers,
JFN

Welcome, JFN! My grandfather was a full-blooded Swede, an "Olson" no less!

Glad to have you aboard. Happy posting!

Thanks!

Oh, so you have had your fair share of sill, knäckebröd and snaps then?

Your SMC 35-70mm photos were the reason I decided to buy that lens after I had found it used for cheap and searched for references, especially the nutcracker photos, great shots!!

Ha! I almost mentioned sill in my welcome.

That's a great little lens. It spends more time on my K-x than anything else. I hope you enjoy it!

lol@sill !!

Yeah, I love it, it's permanently on my K-r for now, it's a great lens for street photography!!

My next lens will be something for indoor shots, round about 24-35 with ~f2.x or something in that direction, any advice on not too pricey sharp lenses?

I don't have it, but from what I read I might recommend the DA 35mm F2.4. It can be had for $200 or less, if that's in the "not too pricey" range. I was also thinking about the Sigma 28mm F1.8 macro, but the price on those seems to have gone up.

Yeah, I've had my eyes on that one, can be had for round about $160-$170. I will check that Sigma you mentioned!
