I'm a retired systems programmer who loves photography and barbershop music since they can both be recorded on my computers. My family including the 5 grandchildren are a big part of my life and I guess the family photos will tell you that. We like to travel a little now and my pictures represent our yearly excursions around Minnesota and the USA with my Pentax K-7/ K10D, Pana FZ20.
Photography has been a hobby for 50 years and the advent of digital cameras and computer software has turned it into a passion. I shot more than 1100 photos on a trip (2001) to Oregon with my Sony CD1000. CDR's gave me almost unlimited storage and the 10x Zeiss lens was great. A little more resolution, speed and buffer space would make this an ideal tool. Please enjoy any or all of my current and past scanned albums shot with my Nikkormat or Ricoh 35mm.
My Minolta D7i, well, it was replaced with a Panasonic FZ20 in 2005 (an even better camera).
Adding a Canon 10D in 2003 made my conversion to digital more complete and very satisfactory. Samples are on Fotki.com - now for some more lenses. The 70-200 f2.8 L is good but large and heavy.
I'm now using a Pentax K-7 & 10D as well and love the color and smoothness and built-in IS/SR and weather proofing. (2007)A couple of Tamron lenses 70-300 and 28-200mm give me some range, but the quality ones will have to wait. The kit lens (18-55mm) is very adequate for now.Goodbye film.
The new Tamron 18-250mm is my walk about lens. In Oct, 2007 I acquired a Pentax DA* 50-135mm for better low light capabilities and weather resistance.
1998 Epson 700, 1999 Epson 850, 2000 Sony CD1000, 2001 Minolta D7i, 2003 Canon 10D, 2005 Panasonic FZ20, 2007 Pentax K10D (from 1.3 MP to 10.2 MP) - My digital chronology.
1957 Kodak Signet 35mm,1958 Ricoh 1.9, 1981 Polaroid SX70, 1985 Nikkormat, 1990 Ricoh XR-P (35mm partial list)several medium format cameras too. Slide film was used almost exclusively until 1984.
One of my sons worked for a processing lab for a couple of years so I shot Fuji print film for awhile. From 35mm range finder to the automatic XR-P its been fun. Many have been scanned for inclusion on my Fotki web site or Pbase site.
Look for me on Fotki.com as WAYNElr6 where over 13,000 images reside.
