Hello from your newest New Zealand user!

Hello, all you lovely Pentaxians! I look forward to joining this great forum, especially since I have recently decided to step up and purchase myself a Pentax K-5! I'm a reasonably new photographer but I really love learning about all that photography has to offer as it is all so interesting and exciting!

Anyway, I will be thrilled to be accepted into this great community and can't wait to learn from you all!

Regards,
Damon.

Cool, where from? Alot of existing Pentax users in NZ and quite a few on the Forum, not many new ones manly due to not many stores stocking new Pentax product.
I'm a Wellingtonian myself although I live in Sydney at this point of time but go home often.

I'm from Nelson and currently living here but in a couple of weeks I will be moving to Dunedin for University, which will probably be where I start my adventure with photography although that isn't at all what I am studying haha.

Nice, excellent camera to get started with, I'm very envious!!- Recommend to get some old glass and even an old film body, it really helps with leaning the fundamentals.

I've been lucky enough to have been able to borrow a 1000D for the past couple of months which has been great. I am really interested to get my hands on an old 50mm that is in good condition, even if I had to purchase a M42 to Pentax K thread (probably wouldn't be able to afford a new one, being a poor student and all, but I really don't mind not having AF and all that jazz, it just means more adventure and learning), I'm sure they still produce nice images and would be a lot of fun. My father is actually currently working in your windy home city, haha.
