I have been lurking on this forum for quite a few weeks now, waiting for the day I could order my Pentax K5. Today was the day! I think I've read every single post on every single thread about Pentax lenses on this forum.

I wanted to say thank you to all the hard work and time that has gone into recording this wealth of information. For a new-to-Pentax hobbyist like me, it was truly invaluable.

Just a little about me...I'm a teacher in a high school by day and spend my days and nights away from school dabbling in photography and editing, (among other things like writing and designing clothes). I am lucky enough that I teach Graphic Design and a little photography, so I get to play AND get paid for it. It's a pretty good gig.

I'm coming to Pentax from a Nikon D40, a great little camera. I've always felt just a tiny bit held back by it though. I have a couple of zooms for the Nikon but I leave the 35 mm prime on almost always. I'll be keeping the whole kit because my kids are both into photography too. It's nice to have a spare, and I'm not unhappy with the Nikon (but the Pentax has really excited me!)

As for my new purchase...I went with the K5, body only and for lenses I decided on the DA16-45mm and the FA 77mm prime. I can't WAIT for it all to get here! Thanks again for all of your help. I look forward to sharing!
