Not another Melbourne user!!!

Hello fellow pentaxians!

I'm a long time lingerer on these forums, and since opening my K10D a couple of weeks ago have buried myself within the threads of this site. I'm excited to learn more about how to use this thing, and already have a thousand questions running around in my head.

Anyway I thought it was about time I introduced myself here, because you will probably see me pop up in threads here and there. I'm 23, work as a 3D artist for a computer game developer here in Melbourne and am eager to learn more about photography!

I have taken a couple of hundred shots so far, with less than a handful being really worth keeping, so I'm hoping the community here will be able to help me improve. Ive read the instruction manual included with the camera, "the digital SLR guide" by 'John Canfield', and grabbed a copy of Codiac2600's awesome guide. Anyway enough about me, thanks for reading!

- Stefan

(K10D with the kit lens - 18-55mm, and soon to have a tamron 70-300mm lens)

Welcome, Stefan.

Please don't shoot me.

(For the record, Melbourne is basically Australia's Compton.)

Thanks everyone.

Kaimarx it is definitely an fantastic place to live, there is always something happening. As Lithos says though you just have to dodge the bullets.... (kidding kidding).

At the moment I have just been walking around taking photos of everything remotely interesting, including a lot of night time shots just trying to learn my way around the K10D. I'm sure eventually I will lean towards some kind of style, but at the moment I'm just having fun taking taking good quality photos.

Once the AFL (Australian Football League) begins in Mid February I'm sure i will be taking many action shots.

Welcome Jebus.
I can't wait for the AFL to start again, looking forward to seeing some photos.

Although I live in Perth and I have never been to Melbourne, I am a card carrying member of the Melbourne Demons. Perhaps I will get over there this year.

Hahahaha ... you beat me to it.

Welcome to the forums ... it's pretty good in here.
There's quite a number of Melbournians in here ... you could end up having your own meet and greets soon.

DV (Distorted Vision) is walking around talking photos of anything and everything ... you have probably seen him wandering the streets down there
