My first 35mm camera was a Pentax S1a inherited from my father.

I also used a Chinon k-mount camera and, more recently, have been using a Pentax k20d.

I was actually thinking of switching systems, but decided to go with the k5 instead. I like the fact that Pentax is trying to keep the DSLR as small as possible, and I need the weather resistance.

The QC Issues with the k5 are cause for concern, but I've been researching other cameras as well, and they all have their issues. Hopefully I won't have any, but I'm sure I'll deal with them if they come up.

Don't worry too much about the K-5's QC issues...there's been way more talk of them than actual occurrences
