Hi from Toronto

Hi All

Just Registered to the site but honestly being skimming it since last two weeks and ended up buying DA 15mm Ltd after reading all those reviews for my Pentax K5 :-) My other camera is Fuji X100 and both get equal love from me. After using Fuji x100 for quiet some time, i lost interest in zooms and thus decided to buy prime for my Pentax. I am more into street and low light photography

Thanks everyone for all those knowledgeable inputs spread all over the site

Kuki

Welcome to a fellow Torontonian. The DA*15mm Ltd is indeed a great lens! If you want to play around with some other DA* Ltds let me know. I have four of them ... 21, 40, 70, (in addition to the 15).

Beware. You will soon meet a person claiming to have insight to the future. Do not believe him.

Welcome.

I was wearing my Leafs replica jersey yesterday.

Thanks Everyone and Rhe i will definitely need your opinion about rest of the Ltd range. At some point i do want to get either 35 or 40. Right now i haven't told my girl friend about the 15 ltd i ordered or she will bury me alive :-)

By the way Future Shop at Dundas square have 3-4 Pentax 16-45 lenses in stock which they are trying to get rid off as they don't sell Pentax brand any more. Although on their website they are selling the same lens at CAD 345 but in that particular store they have marked it down at CAD 200. I was tempted but i don't like the long barrel fully extended. So i preferred investing in 15mm Ltd

Not to worry - there are a bunch of Torontonians here, a bunch of lens buying addicts here, and some that fit bot categories.

Welcome to the forum form another torontonian (Didn't know about the FS deal, bet you could get an even better price from them as well I worked for them for quite a while and the longer an item is on the discontinued list the worse grief they get from regional management. If i didn't already have a sigma 24-70 2.8 and a DA14 I would grab that (still may it's a good walkabout zoom.....grrrr why did you have to point that out )

Greetings from another Torontonian.

I try not to fit any category.

I am not really a lens person. I just wanted lenses for my K-5 to cover as much territory as possible with as little overlap and as few gaps as possible.

Hence:
SMC Pentax DA 12-24mm (second favourite lens)
Tamron AF 28-80mm (I could get by without this)
Quantary AF 70-300mm (My favourite lens)
Sigma 600mm f8 manual focus mirror lens. with Canon FD mount and Pentax K adapter. (Not used very much.)

Mickey

Kinda like herding cats, you pretty much have to have cages to confine the one's you've caught in while you go and collect the others...

Herding cats is easy I just put Blu on it (getting both in the frame is a whole other story, it's like chasing ghosts)
