Hi from Fort Carson, Colorado Springs

Sup everybody,

The names Kelly and I found this forum while looking for info on a camera I'm buying for myself and my wife.
The camera is a Pentax Spotmatic F, seeing that I'm a Soldier and we don't make that much money I wanted to start with this camera for starters.
I saw some pictures on another forum I follow and I just had to own one. The pictures are located here if you wanna see what inspired me to get this camera along with the lense that took some of the pictures.

The spotmatic F is an M42 camera that supports open-aperture metering with the newer SMC takumar lenses (which aren't always cheap):

Honestly if you're looking to buy a camera to actually take pictures, though, I would get something a bit more modern, like at least a K1000 or better yet, a Super Program or ME. There's a reason screwmount lenses are no longer being made Going for a K-mount body will give you some added flexibility, plus when you upgrade to digital, you'll be able to use the same lenses with fewer limitations.

I kinda want to keep it Nostalgic with the camera. But I appreciate your advice and I have been looking at the K1000 along with a old school KX and the Spotmatic ESII.
Can you give any advice on the last two I stated? Also I don't mind staying with the M42 screw mounts.
