I just sold my hand-me-down K10D kit on ebay in preparation of purchasing a K-01. I'm the definition of amateur. I probably take 10X more iPhone photos than with my K10D because I love candid, spontaneous shots. I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm not a manual snob. I love taking pictures and if I need to clean them up in Lightroom or Photoshop, so be it. I have pressure to switch to Nikon or Canon all the time, but I'm sticking with Pentax because, for me, it's awesome.
If you mean manual as in M mode, that's no problem
But if you mean manual as in manual focus lenses, when you get your K-01, turn on focus peak and try manual focusing. I am pretty sure that a good majority of people who have never used focus peak before will be in love with manual focusing after trying it.
I did mean M mode. I'm not afraid of manual focus -- in fact I have an old pancake lens that I can't wait to use on the K-01. I must admit though, after reading so much negative feedback on the K-01 in this forum alone, I've had second thoughts about purchasing one. It forces me to research other cameras, which always brings me back to the K-01. Now I just need the patience to wait for a price drop/firmware upgrade.
