I decided to join this forum partially because I'm about to buy my first digital slr and I'm not sure which one I'd like to get so I figured this would be the best place to learn about Pentax slr's. Additionally, I love learning and I figure the best way to learn about a subject (in this case, Pentax slrs) is to talk to people who know a lot about it. Right now I shoot with a Canon AE-1 but at this point the cost of buying and developing film is starting to catch up with me so I think it's a good time to go into digital.

Welcome to the forum, I just noticed your post count at 7 already. My brother has an AE-1 too and still likes film.

If you are moving into a DSLR you are going to like your choices as all brands have a positive side. Pentax for the most part is very competitive on pricing vs. performance.
