hi everyone, my name is calvin and i have a pentax k5. not gonna lie, ive been looking for a 70-200 sigma 2.8 and theres one on the classified fourm so i need two posts

but i love my pentax k5 even tho i bought it with 6900 shutter count

wasnt mentioned in the ebay posting. my question is, is the k5 still good shutter wise?

Welcome Calvin. Well at least you're honest.

You K-5 should be good for many years to come. The shutter is rated at greater than 100,000 actuations. Enjoy your camera and the forum.

@ neil : im looking for the old version with the aperature ring so i can use it for my pentax mx as well. also the new version is not as good as the old version so im told.

@ pilgrimingvine: Camera swap meet on April 29th at the Cameron Rec. center at Lougheed Mall. i was told by another fourm member at rangefinder. he said it starts at 9 for the hoarders and 930 for everyone else

The swap meet is a bunch of the same recycled junk that they bring back every year but to each their own...

I have a couple, and the only thing is to make sure you get a genuine pentax ring as shown here Pentax Mount Adapter K reviews - Pentax Camera Accessory Review Database
One of mine says Pentax, and the other Asahi.

It's neat to walk around, it isn't worth the extra $$ to pay to get in early though.
