Slowly introducing myself

Hello,

I' m a total amateur photographer. Like everybody, I' m aware of the worlds breath, its rumble, what senses it activates in everyone of us, and I' d love to manage to capture such vibe in my pictures. Unfortunately, being a beginner is very hard. My basic gear is the Pentax K-5 with the standard lenses. Had it for a week and did some pictures, still learning to not overexpose or the opposite, and many other things. Not from the manual, cause it' s larger than many books I' m trying to read now, but from sites and from people.

Hope i' ll be fun.

Welcome aboard ...

Bonjour,

The K-5 is a lot of DSLR to master and would be a daunting learning curve for a novice ... take you time and advance at your own pace.

There's a decent book you might want to look at ... The "Magic Lantern Guides - Pentax K-7 - Peter Burian" ... it's obviously for the K-7, which I had before my K-5, yet +90% of this book is accurate for the K-5, IMHO. They are the same bodies and basic functionalities ... and you could find a used one cheap on flea-bay, Amazon, etc.

Allez et bon courage, John le Frog
