Hello from the Land of the Dragon!
My first time on this Forum, so it's a big Welsh Hello to everyone! My first camera was a Pentax SV bought from my uncle back in 1972 - it taught me everything I needed to learn as it had no meter so one learned to judge light, contrast and shadow by eye; marvellous. Since then I've been using Contax gear and have around 30 35mm SLRs and assorted Contax/Yashica kit as well as 42 Zeiss lenses (from 15mm to 500 4.5) and about two dozen Yashica and assorted bits of glass. 4 years ago I moved back into medium format, using Contax 645, Mamiya RZ67 and Fuji GX680III gear - great fun. But now I'm returning to an experience I enjoyed back in 1970 courtesy of UK-based tog Sam Haskins who shot some of the Pentax calendars back then. He let me try out a Pentax 6x7 in his London Studio and I've just bought a couple of bodies and 6 lenses. The kit should arrive on Friday and I have a fridge full of 120 and 220 film... Oh yes, I still have my SV and 55 f1.8.
Can't wait..but thought it wise to join this Forum as there's no substitute for experience and good advice when taking piccies with unfamiliar equipment.
