Hi everyone!

Hello Pentax users,

I am new to DSLR and have purchased my Pentax K-x about a 1.5 yrs ago. I have been using it and do like the results I get from it, compare to Point & Shoot cameras that I have used in past. I bought it with two lenses (18-55 & 55-300mm) and I am glad I did get the package. I have also added a Pentax M 50mm F1.7 manual lens and it produces some very nice sharp photos. (when using it at F1.7 or 2.0 I mostly use live-view mode to get accurate focus)

Anyways, I want to learn a little more about DSLRs and all the manual options to make my photos even better. I have been using jpegs for the most part but did some RAW as well. I want to get some advise on tweaking the manual controls to get better photos. I have not used Highlight or shadows correction or built in RAW processor--any advice on that? Also, I came across some reviews that K-x clips highlights and to avoid it I should turn the exposure down/-.5 or so and then correct in post processing... Has anyone tried that and is it noticeable?

Thanks!!!

Also, any advise on how to set all available settings in order to get best looking jpegs out of the camera with minimal post processing will be greatly appreciated,

Thanks again,

Elijah
