Hi folks
I've been a Konica shooter for the last couple of years and have a large collection of Hexanon lenses and Konica bodies.
The lenses are fantastic but I'm at my wit's end with the bodies, out of 5, only one has a working meter and that's the fully auto FP-1 that I don't use much.
A couple of weeks ago I picked up a Pentax MV1 with M 1.7/50 and M 3.5/135 lenses in the local charity shop for the princely sum of 8ukp. There was also a Hoya 2.8/28 which I sold on the big auction site for 27ukp, I've had several copies of that lens and while it's good, it's not upto the level of my Hexanon 3.5/28.
I didn't expect to keep the body or the lenses either, but out of curiosity I shot a couple of rolls of film with them and was highly impressed. None of the Konica bodies have aperture priority but of course, the MV1 has only aperture priority and I found I really like it, especially for street photography. The quality of the lenses impressed me too.
So I decided to keep the MV1 and lenses and am on the lookout for more M series lenses cheap, a 28mm would be nice (shoulda kept that Hoya)...
I learnt to shoot using Spotmatics and Takumars back in the 90s at art college so as the title says, I'm back to where I started in my photographic journey.
