Used to have a Nikon D90 with a Tamron 18-270 and 60mm macro, switched to a K-5 because the D7000 was too expensive (I got my D90 body for $800 when it was brand new when it first came out) and because the weather sealing was really appealing to me because my hands gets really sweaty (dripping wet). So far I'm loving my K-5 with FA* 60-250 and DA 35. Really missing my 60mm F 2 prime though wish tamron would make one for pentax mount. The "professional" photographers are a joke here so far the best setup I've seen is a Tamron 28-75 with a Nikon D5100 with a massive flash which the lady didn't even bother to bounce, no good camera shops around here and the only place that sells DSLRs here is best buy which only stock canons and nikons. The only camera shop around here wants $175 for a used k1000 body...proabby to take advantage of the kids who take photography classes here (David Letterman) gave a lot of money to the arts department.

Well, Pentax is releasing the 50mm new lens so maybe that will fit your style. Of course, you could look for one of the older FA50s which are supposed to be pretty good.
