Bought a WG-2 for a trip to Costa Rica. Worked beautifully when taking photos while canyoning through waterfalls. Brief dips in a pond - no problem. Took some pictures in a pouring rain-no problem. Took it snorkeling. Lens and the LCD display started to fog up within 5 min in no more than one foot of water
(12 in), then DIED!
Waterproof up to 40 feet - HaHa! Water-resistant - may be; NOT waterproof.
Ruined my vacation!
P.S. Underwater shots were very, very marginal quality. Not at all worthwhile taking.
If you want a rugged camera for above - water , with occasional dips in water - fine. Do Not use underwater - it will die!
P.P.S. this is my first and only Pentax product. Not a great introduction. Terribly disappointed!
