Hello,

Joined around a week ago when beginning to research cameras. I've just ordered a K-30 with the 18-55mm Pentax kit lens.

I've got a Takumar 28mm lens at home, and a Sun 85-210mm zoom that can both be put into service once I buy an adapter.

I've been around SLRs for most of my childhood (Spotmatics with 28mm, 50mm, 105mm, 135mm, 85-210mm zoom and 500mm mirror reflex) but marriage, children and reduced finances meant I moved away from photography as a hobby. Around 10 years ago I bought a P&S digital but have never been happy with anything about that camera apart from it fitting in my pocket; but we've got a holiday or two coming up and decided it was time to update.

I pondered the K-5 versus K-30 for a week-or-so, but felt the price difference in Australia (around $300) wasn't worth it for the K-5 so went for the black K-30.

Looking forward to reading more on this site, and looking forward moreso to getting my hands on the K-30 some time next week.
