Hello, world!

(Does that count as a programming joke? I'm not sure...)

Hey all,

Decided to join since I'm about to purchase a Pentax Spotmatic on ebay! I'm probably going to buy a second one (or a Canon AF35M) in the next couple days in an attempt to retrofit it with parts from a digital camera.

Just wanted to inform every one of my existence

At least one person I know is on here, but I'm not sure what his username is. Maybe he'll stop hiding in a bit.

Welcome aboard! I'm not too sure about retrofitting an old camera, but give it a shot, I guess.
People here try almost everything!

Thanks! I grabbed two for $36.39 total. That way if it comes down to it, I can do irreversible modifications without losing my only film camera. However, I'm going to try for something that just slips in in place of the film. Both are expected to arrive on the 20th.

Hi there

Yes, you know me from IRC, and no, I haven't posted before now, but I've been reading/lurking quite a bit.

Welcome duckinator, not sure I understood your first post but I am envisioning a dark stormy night, a tower and lots of lightning.

Thought you all may be interested to learn that I got one of the two Spotmatics today. Tested everything but the light meter (battery's corroded in), and the "X flash" and "FP flash" terminals (nothing to hook to them). Everything else works on it. Trying to get a lens or two to test it with now.

@Schmidlapper that sounds about right.
