Hi all,
I'm a happy K-5 + 18-55 kit user. Its about a week I got it.
Its my first personal DSLR. Before it, I was shooting with film (2 years).
I was astonished how sharp my photos look compared with film negatives scanned with flatbed.
Well images are not sharper than my wife's Mark II, but also, they are not to be compared with.
Mark is huge, heavy and don't ask about a money I had to pay :)
K-5 is little fast camera. It shoots faster and quieter. It even saves RAW to card faster :)
Now I can simply change ISO, instead of rewinding and switching film. No waits for processing film. No more scanning.
I see pictures right away, after I'm at PC.
This is huge change.

Welcome moderis, don't be surprised if your wife ends up wanting to borrow your camera once in awhile. There is a lot to be said for the form factor Pentax created.

She is allready stunned how silently shutter works,
writing buffer size made impression too.
