Greetings from Denmark

Hi All
My name is Ryan. I am 38 years old. Have been serious about photography since me and thr misses were expecting the birth of our first child 6 years ago and wanted to capture this fantastic period of our lives. So I went looking for a DSLR, found a good deal and where it might as well could have been anything but I ended up with a pentax And I Have been very happy ever since.
Am mostly doing portraits, nature and City pictures. Next step will be macro work I think.
Best regards, Ryan

Welcome to the Forums, Ryan.

Many of us got started with photography in exactly the same way you did, but stuck with it and developed an interest and skill with it. It's hard when you have young children, to find the time and money to pursue the interest, but with a good basic kit, it doesn't take much more to help along the way. If you can't immediately afford a good macro lens, there's always supplementary lenses and extension tubes, for example. Macro is one area where you can fit things in to a busy work and parenting schedule, because a lot can be done in and around the home in short bursts. Digital adds that extra level of immediacy and convenience, too.

Best of luck with it all. There's lots of help to be gained here, too.
