Hello (from Delaware, USA)

Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a beginner/intermediate photographer. I was given a Pentax P3 SLR when I was a teenager, so when it came time to buy a DSLR, I decided to stick with Pentax (K-x) so that I could keep using my one-and-only lens from the P3, a Promaster 28-70 Macro (not sure of the model). I went with the K-x mainly from good reviews and price within my range.

Unfortunately, that Promaster lens wouldn't fit without some minor modification to a flange that protruded from the back of the lens. I barbarically used a Dremel rotary tool to grind off the flange to make it fit.

I'm a big fan of Pentax now, and enjoy the decent supply of used equipment on the market these days.

Welcome. You are not the only person to be forced to remove that flange from third party lenses.

Welcome to PF ! ... and a Dremel can be a good friend to have around - used mine to modify a Yashica 50/1.4 plus others - Cheers, J

I got my first Pentax, a Spotmatic, when I lived in Delaware. I left Delaware behind in 1973, but still shoot Pentax.
