Hi,

I recently ordered a Pentax K-30 and grabbed one of the thanksgiving deals out there. It feels cozy in this cold at the thought of buying a Pentax for a low price. Waiting eagerly for it to arrive.

My Dad is one of the biggest fans of Pentax. He had a ME F SLR. He hopes to use the lenses he has with this new camera. (Given how Pentax boasts it backward compatibility.)

Hope I make best use of the camera with your guidance. :-)

Welcome to the forums.
He should not have any problems using his older lenses. Check out the manual for any limitations and settings you may need to change. I don't know what lenses he has but if they have an A setting then may only be limited to manual focus If no A setting then may need to allow aperture ring in the menu. Again be sure to read the manual.

Yeah. We know there will be limitations. Thank you for pointing out, though. On a side note, do you know what is the max. size memory card that I can use with K-30? Since there is no internal storage, I have to buy a SD, SDHC or SDXC card.
