Greetings All - Getting back into hobby!

Hi Everyone,

I'm hoping to get back into photography as a hobby. I enjoyed it as a HS student, using my mom's Nikon (sorry, it was cheaper than buying my own film SLR!) & while serving/traveling in the USAF with my own Pentax ME Super. Basically, as film & processing costs increased & I gained a family, house, etc. it became a lower priority in the budget. I also enjoyed it with my brother-in-law, who really should have been a pro.

So, if I've been a good boy this year, perhaps Santa will leave a bright yellow K-01 for me under the tree! I love the color, and while the full digital & video aspect will be fun and interesting to learn, I'll probably get the most enjoyment out of it as a quality manual with older lenses... now, that I only have to buy film once! (SD format, of course)

I look forward to getting to know the group here.

Good to have you here. Looks like you've preempted your Pentax gift by joining up. . Enjoy.

Thanks everyone! Well, looks like Santa shouldn't have waited until Monday for a massive deal... I'm hoping all the ad space & positive relationship w/ Adorama I see hear will translate into shipped product before Christmas. I ordered the yellow K-01 & 40mm XS lens kit to get started, thought it was a pretty good deal. My last camera purchase, aside from phones & pods, was a Casio Exilim EX-Z40 when my son was born 8+ yrs ago. It's survived well, and is still plugging along. Oh well, even if Santa ends up being late, I'll still enjoy getting started again and sharing photography with my son.

Cheers from NE Ohio!
