Hello.

I have owned Sony, Nikon, Canon and now Pentax bodies. All have their strengths but when my Canon G 1X was stolen last week the lure of the K-01 was too great to resist. I still have a full Nikon DSLR kit and am planning on buying a Leica kit in the new year.

I love the design of the K-01 and its image quality is unbeatable at the fire-sale price it's being sold at now. I've handled and shot it a little without owning it and find the size, feel and quality hugely appealing. I very much hope Pentax keep on this path.

Most appealing to me is the lens system. The K-01 allows me to buy and use full-frame lenses that I can keep forever. Any other mirrorless system - bar Leica - requires an investment that won't travel with me into a full-frame future. For that reason the Pentax is even better value. The investment in any system is the lenses. Bodies are ever changing and being disposed of and buying the K-01 feels smart. If and when the K-01 isn't of use day-to-day I'll have lenses that can be used on any K-mount body. Until then I can use really excellent, compact glass on a first-rate body.
