Hello to all
New to Digital Pentax ordered a K01 today (upgrade from Canon G3) for $300! Sony sensor and all.
Old old Pentaxian started with Spotmatic then Spotmatic ES just the 'other week'. Hope to be able to use all my old 42mm lenses again on the K01.
Unbelievable advance in cameras and colour processing Ektachrome and Agfa colour films in 40yrs.
I am looking for a quality general purpose zoom in the 40-100mm range(35mm equivalent) with as large an aperture as possible.
Also looking for a camera that lets me voice annotate stills in the way the poor old G3 does. When I take a cow photo and can record her identity ( say A95) for stud breeding and promotion. With 200 or so pedigreed animals I cannot recognize / distinguish them without some way to label the photo in camera.
The forum is invaluable to me in boning up on K7 K5 K5II . It is good to see the Pentax name coming back and a full frame 'K3'?.
What ever happened to Asahi Optica and Takumar lenses, gone with the Ektachrome? Digital is so much easier and we can do so much more.
