Greetings from a new member

Hello All,

I'm a new forum member based in Seattle, though i am in eastern Pennsylvania just now on a family visit. I recently bought a K-5 to supplement my K-r and 15mm ltd and 21mm ltd. I'm a long-time wide angle photographer and have worked with a range of equipment. I have been working with 35mm and 4x5 film cameras until about two years ago and have been using high end point and shoots for about 7 or 8 years.

I was pretty impressed with the K-r when i got it, though i really wanted a K-5 then but couldn't justify the expense. Though i haven't had it long, the K-5 is truly an amazing camera and a pleasure to use! Holy crap-- the combination of prime lenses available, image quality, build quality and ergonomics is really impressive. Of course i am preaching to the choir!

In my 20 years of serious photography i've had the pleasure of owning and working with some great equipment-- various 4x5 view cameras and medium format cameras (Fuji, Pentax, Yashica and Mamiya), a Canon T-90, Canon new F-1, FD 20mm 2.8 and 35mm 2.0 (which i still have and try to use occasionally.)

I have been a Canon guy in my 35mm SLR use and am now a Pentax convert! The K-5 and limited lenses are great. Thanks for all the helpful information and hivemind.

A welcome from Pennsylvania is in order then. That K-5 should serve you very well also, I know I love mine for sure.
