I have joined this forum hoping to find some tips on how to service and generally enjoy my Pentax cameras. I have six at the moment; all bought cheaply for adding the type to the 'History of my life in cameras' I am compiling. Up to now I have an example of most of my main use cameras since I was ten years old. I recently paid the most I have ever done for a black S1a in very good external condition to represent the one my parents gave me for, I think, my twenty-first birthday. The shutter doesn't work properly and the blinds are perforated, but that doesn't matter. I have got a couple to learn on, an SV and an S1a, to make mistakes on before I wreck my best ones.
I worked over forty-five years in various branches of photography, but not as a photographer - hence my interest in cameras. I know of no photographer who cares anything for cameras except for the operation. As long as they work, good enough.
I will say that however relaxing I found darkroom printing in my later years at work, I am a supporter of digital photography as the results are better and instant compared with the old ways.
