Wow I just discovered this thread and I am beyond floored.

Thank you.

You did your humble bit by representing all the guys and gals who are just "doing a job" over there with no fanfare and not nearly enough credit for their dedication while in harm's way. Glad you're safe for awhile.

Alex, thanks for your service to your country, your defense of freedom, and for sharing your fabulous photography. I hope you get back in the states soon (or I've missed if you have). You've set a high standard, I'm looking forward to whatever you come up with next!

I just now saw this thread. Down here when a soldier comes home we throw him a big BBQ. Kind of wish I could do that, but I'm too broke and I'm thinking it would be a hike besides, grin. At the very least I'm sitting here toasting you with a Coke. (What I drink instead of beer et all which I can't stand.) Here's to you, and thanks!

Rarely do I check this forum, but I was aware you were back in Germany! Welcome back to "civilization." Hope you can shake the sand out of your camera bag and keep shooting!

It's good to see that you're home again. Perhaps you will make another visit to NZ some time soon.
