Hello Pentax forums,

I'm pretty new to forums thing so I may be very immature or posting on wrong forums, anyway I'm a student from Sydney

I've no luck lately trying to buy my first SLR camera and a friend told me to have a look here. So I made an account and hoping to make new friends too

I've had reasonable success with finding stuff on Gumtree.
I see there's a K1000 (body only) in Manly currently up for sale there.

Also look at the markets in the forums (but you knew that already, didn't you)

I've made a contact with a person on pentax forum about his selling, it seems pretty good but might need some foams replacement(which it is normal he said to me.)

yeah I saw the $100 body only, I'm a little scared, I'm a student and for $100 is quite a lot for just the body. I thought about calling that seller too to see if eveything works, how much would it cost if I just want the body(not including the flash) I hope its this one you were talking about:

My head is hurting I'm thinking if I should buy the body and get another better lens from here or ebay or gumtree..very hard to decide. I have a 50mm f1.8 on my canon 60D. I want to use an adaptor too later on, but for now my head is hurting to debate trying to get a good deal for myself =] first time doing these things on my own

That's the one I saw.
I wasn't sure of your budget or whether you had any lenses already.
I would have tried to talk him down anyway,
you can get quite a reasonable camera and lens package for that price if you're willing to go with another model.

Like most people here, I started with the lens that came with my camera and got additional ones as I improved and/or I needed something extra.
I find a 50mm covers 90% of my film photography, but I wouldn't turn my nose up at a lens just because it comes with the package.
