I after much checking on the net, I am almost persuaded about the K-30 over the D5200. Where I live in Trinidad I don’t have the opportunity to physically hold these cameras until I travel to the States in July where I will only have a short time to purchase. Deciding in the store could be influenced on the view of the sales persons. So we depend on forums, owners posting and reviews to help us decide. I own a new Nikon Speedlight SB 600, can this work on the Pentax K-30? If not what is a good flash for the K-30?

Welcome to the forum. I'm pretty sure the flash you have for a Nikon camera will NOT work with the Pentax as the units have different configurations and won't be able to talk to each other. I would suggest the Metz 58 AF 2 for Pentax to be the one to get.
