K-01 with Sigma 18-35mm K-PR mount

Hi all,
I just registered about 97 seconds ago!
Obviously I'm a new member, but immediately, I have a question.
I just purchased a Pentax K-01. I also purchased a Sigma 18-35mm f3.5-4.5 Zoom wide angle lens with a K-PR mount. The lens attaches nicely and securly onto the camera, but I see flashing red F-- on the LCD screen. No matter what mode I go to, the flashing F-- is there. Does anyone know what the issue is? Did I not do enough homework before purchasing this lens? Will it work on my K-01 with some sort of modification that I can do? Any help will be appreciated!!
