Lurker persuaded

Having found the site I've been enjoying reading the lens reviews and felt guilty at the "lurker" message - nice psychology :-). I used Pentax manual-focus film gear regularly for well over 25 years until my need to get top-quality autofocus for following birds in flight led me to Nikon about 5 years ago. I've since gone digital with Nikon; I'm afraid I can't understand why anyone would put lovely full-frame lenses on a small sensor so I was never tempted by Pentax digital bodies. I still think my MX is the best camera I've ever owned.

Welcome!

If my choice is to put lovely full-frame lenses on a small sensor or put them on eBay I choose the former.

And there's always the hope for a larger sensor.

Welcome to the forum, apparently a FF Pentax DSLR is just round the corner, or so they say.

"Apparently"? I very actively looked at the Pentax possibilities when the AF 300mm f/4 came out but it struck me then that there had been so many Pentax promises about what was coming "real soon now" that I kinda lost faith. If they'd had a full-frame version of the K7 back then - or a convincing route towards one - I'd have gone digital with Pentax, no doubt. But I have to say I don't get any of the sheer enjoyment in the act of taking a photograph with the Nikons like I did with my MX - but as I'm now into wildlife, the high ISO performamce of a full-frame digital, along with predictive autofocus, became the key factors. Apologies for joining this Forum and espousing another brand :-(

I fear the same thing, too, sometimes ... as the French would say, "on verra ..." J
