Hello everybody!

I have registered myself to the forum some times ago, but have never been yet to the "Welcome Forum" to introduce myself!
So, I am doing it, right now!

I am a French Frog Eater from Paris France, user and fan of Pentax since my young age, due to the passion brought by my elder Brother, who first bought himself, a Pentax Spotmatic F in the begining of the seventies!
He was attracted by the small size of that camera, the fact that it had a new measurement system inside, and the quality of the lenses, with the multicoated treatment! At that time, it was still Takumar the name of lenses, and SMC was a tag of quality at that time, and still is!!!

So I followed him many years later, and I am still faithfull to the Make since then :
Spotmatic II, Me super (Yes! a super camera), Ist (the last one in analog, and for me one of the best), Ist Ds (marvelous gift from friends that I am still using, on the verge of getting the K5II), 645 (a very good medium format!!!)

I cannot deny that I have some other brands and stuff, but oldies!
I never went to the other side : Canikon, Minolta, Sony, Olympus and so on

I am not the kind to nag and say bad things about these brands, which are good too, and it is nice to have some makers improving the stuff just for us the users, and the competition that exists between them, is for our good, after all!!!

And when you start with a system, you usualy keep going with it!
I was somehow frustrated at a time, because Pentax was loosing a little bit compared to the 2 o 3 other Makes!

But now with the K30, the K5, K5II, K5IIs and the 645D, Pentax hax caught back!!!

I will try to participe to the World Pentax week-end with some pictures!
I know that I am not going to win anything, except the pleasure to get into the Pentax Community!!!

Welcome to the Forum! So many similarities, starting with the Spotmatic F myself, like your brother. We ate frogs in the south of the US, too, peut-etre grace a Napoleon??..! And actually now I am of France, my wife is from Toulouse, and I have adopted France totally. Pentax definitely crosses lots of borders, and I have been loyal, too, even with other gear. My first Pentax gear was stolen, but I found my way back. This is a great forum, bienvenue! I look forward to seeing your photographs!
