no its not

i really wanted the equivalent Pentax DA* one, but it was just too pricey and i got the Tammy for $356, so far i really like the lens. I also read that there's a significant amount of users with the DA* 16-55 that had motor issues. I think from the forum data it was like 40% of users had motor issues! 0_0

i might snag a used DA WR for my outdoor excursions later on
