Hello from Florida

I just bought my 1st SLR camera and it's a K30. I don't know how long I'll be in this forum because I took 3 or 4 pix and the camera died !
I don't know if it's the camera or the battery. I charged the battery until the green light went out like it said to before I put it in the camera. Ever heard of that before ??
I bought it from Target.com so I'm going to take it to Target tomorrow and see what they say. Hopefully it's just a defective battery because I was pretty excited about owning my 1st DSLR.
I hope to post many more times in these forums in the future.

I brought my 1st K30 back and got a new one. I've had it for a couple of weeks and Love it !
I've already used it in the rain (not on purpose) but was still nervous. I guess under warranty is the best time to try it out.

Since this is my first DSLR, can anyone give me some suggestions or voice their preferences on what I NEED to get the most out of my camera and take best care of it ?
I bought some filters for each of my lenses but don't have a lens cleaner of any kind yet. I don't want to get something that will ruin or not do a quality job. Any feedback is Greatly appreciated !
