Hello from England

Just taken the plunge and bought myself a Pentax K5II
after a long gap in pentax ownership, i used to have a Super A, with all the bits and pieces, but sold it when the kids were small
Now i have a bit more money i thoought id get back into it again.

already have some nice lenses, a Pentax 18-135mm, 55-300mm, a Tamron 500mm Cat, & a Tamron 90mm Macro

Look forwards to enjoying the camera.....

yes its a lovely piece of engineering, might seem a bit of overkill as a camera to come into DSLR after such a log time out, but at least i won't need to think about upgrading for a long time, and i'll be able to grow into it as i get more proficient......

Well to be honest it was kind of "fait Acomplis" my wife is into Photography and had managed to wreck my sureshot iS 200 so she decides she wants a DSLR...of course i'm still pro pentax, much more compact than the others and she wanted a camera she could "grow into" so i managed to get her a deal on a K5 with a couple of lenses......
Trouble was she needed me to have a very similar camera so i could sort her issues out (she's not very technical) so by default i ended up getting a camera too, didnt want the same, so i went for the K5II, still getting used to all of the gadgets on it and trying to remember the changes in focal lengths etc........So My Tamron 500mm Cat is actually a 750mm equivalent on my K5...bit difficult to hold still!!!

If you like your drams, while your up, get your good lady to drive you over to a place called Fiddler's in Drumnadrochit.

Fiddlers: food and accommodation, Drumnadrochit, Loch Ness

It's has won the Scottish Malt Whisky Bar of the year, four times on the trot and has over 650 malts to try!!!

You may even catch a glimpse of the wee beastie on the way over, more likely though, on the way back.
