Hello from Melbourne

Hi I'm David
Have been a Pentaxian since the swinging seventies! Had a brief dalliance with another brand but came back to the fold.
Started with Spotmatics, was a swinging fashion photographer with a studio and all, got an ES11 then let things lapse while I concentrated on a change in career.
After more than a decade in the Printing industry, suddenly found myself switching to Teaching and back in the darkroom teaching Photography with a K2 in my hands!
Needless to say this re-awakened my love of photography and at the same time I discovered EBay! next thing you know had a large collection of vintage gear.
Fast forward to today..K5 and Kr with 6 lenses, but feel the technology is getting away from me so..here to learn!

Welcome to the forum, another Pentax veteran shows the show.

As for swinging seventies I've only read about them.

Hi from Melbourne also David, welcome to the forums! I have had both the K-r and K-5 and despite the K-5 being the better camera I still have a soft spot for the K-r. I have fond memories of it having nice colours lol =) Also don't forget Pentax have maintained their mount compatability, you can still put those lenses on film =)

Ah the seventies! Everyone smoked, I mostly used tri-x pan rated at 200 and developed in microdol. Would do a fashion shoot, stay up all night in the darkroom then go to my day job!

Welcome from anther melbournian, this place is a great place to swap experience, dreams about future products and occasionally even photos

The 70s for me meant short pants, long socks and sandals, unfortunately all at the same time....
