New from NJ

Hello from NJ. I am a Pentax convert from Nikon. I previously had a Nikon D5000 and accidentally won a bid on Ebay for a Pentax K-R with 2000 clicks. I couldn't be happier with my win.

I agree that Nikon has a better selection of pro lenses, I am currently learning so I hadn't found the need for the pro lenses on Nikon or Canon that I had prior to the Nikon.

Other than that, Pentax does offer some nice features. Enjoy shooting..

I have found that the K-R is a lot more comfortable in my hand compared to the D5000.

I have not handled K-R, just couple K-7`s and a K-5 with the grip, superb...

Welcome to the forum, a photography life changing eBay moment.

Said by a fellow Nikon defector, albeit some 30 + years ago.

Nothing against Nikon but the Pentax seemed so much more comfortable in my hands than the Nikon or even the Canon I had prior. It was definitely a fluke me winning the bid but I am glad I did. I was able to sell my D5000 for roughly how much I spent on the K-R.

Welcome aboard. Are you going to tell us how you accidentally won an eBay bid. Maybe this knowledge would keep some of us from winning something we don't want!

I had placed a bid early on in the auction. I have the Ebay app on my phone that alerts me when I have been outbid, when I checked the auction I had a few seconds left and I placed a bid for an additional $2 but I then got outbid instantly. When i placed a second bid my phone hadn't kept up with the prices and I added an additional $2 but it was for $312 instead of the $280 I thought it was.
