Hi there

Hello everyone,
I just bought a K-30 as my first DSLR camera, so I'm new in both areas
I'm a software engineer and been practicing and enjoying photography with my little Canon S100 for over one year, and then I felt that I just reached the limits of my little camera, and I wanna more! So bought the best DSLR within my budget.
And now I'm here to learn more

Welcome!
Funny, I just bought a S100 becouse I was feeling kind of restricted by my SLR... What I means is: Donīt under-estimate the power of your S100!
Little and concealable with wide and fast lens (24 f/2 lens is really expensive for SLRs ***) plus, huge DoF becouse of the sensor size... That is the main reason I bought it. But video function is really useful too..

Enjoy your new camera

*** plus, it would have to be 16mm f/2 lens to match 24mm field of view!

Oh yes, I really enjoyed my S100 and actually it moved me forward and toward the joy of photographing in full manual mode, and even I kept it now, because I think for some situations it's still a good companion for me

Thanks
