"
pktriggercord (tethering software) seems to work with the
K-30 too"
Does it what it should under Linux?
I have tried the Windows version, and that's still a construction site, worse than the early versions of PK_Tether.
When I tried it, the program would start only once of about 10 tries, the auto save function didn't work properly forcing me to restart it after every second shot, and the WR kit lens was recognized as "M42 or no lens".
It marks the AF points in a simulated viewfinder (which of course is just a dark rectangle), but I haven't found out what they are for. Maybe they are ment for some future use, or for another Pentax model than my K200D.
Whereas PK_Tether meanwhile works quite well with a K200D (all functions I tried). Except that under a well secured Windows XP, without Admin rights not all functions are available. But that is to be expected with such a program.
I understand PK_Tether neither fully supports the K-30 (yet), nor is there a Linux version.
EDIT:
It is possible that some of my problems are not caused by
pktriggerecord itself, but by the integration with the GUI. It may not work well together with GTK, and I haven't tried the plain command line possibilities.
Sorry, it now seems I am hi-jacking this thread. I may post the rest of my complains and findings in a seperate thread.
