new to photography, how to check if lenses are original?

Hi, I am new to photography and I intend to buy a Revuenon 50mm 1.2. I want to ask if there is any possibility that the lenses are fake and how can I check if they are original or not?
Also, how to check the functionality and parameters of the lenses?

Welcome to the forum, I don't really know how you can fake a lens, when you see it you should be able to see if it's been messed about with.

Do you mean like fake well known brand running shoes? Never heard of anything like that....

EDIT: But watch out, don't give Mr kerrowdown any ideas...

ok. good to know. As I said before, I am new, with few knowledge in this area.
but, what about my other concern, how can I check the lenses? where to look at when evaluating the lenses.
I found a Revuenun 1.2 55mm (220 Euro) and I want to know if the price is correct. My camera is Pentax k5.

Try looking on Ebay, that should give you an idea of what current prices for the lenses are, also read the descriptions of the lenses. If you buy second hand the seller should at least be able to tell you if a lens is in working condition or not, always be sure to ask specifically if there are any haze or fungus in the lens, because even if the lens is mechanically in good order, lenses with haze or fungus(google) should rather be avoided.

You can also check the lens database here on PF to see what the price trend is for a lens. Bear in mind prices have been going up over the past few years due to the arrival of mirrorless cameras and the Pentax full frame rumor mill.
