New to photography, bought a K30

I've been thinking about getting a DSLR for a bit now and sold my bike to purchase one. I initially was thinking about getting the Canon T3i, but after reading tons of reviews, I settled on the K30. I've had it for 2 days now and am already seeing the downsides of the kit lens and am already thinking about getting a 50mm prime!

Welcome to the forum
The K-30 is a great camera, a lot of camera to learn from and I don't think you will regret it. I already see the LBA is calling you, the only "bad" part of owning a great Dslr.
I would advice you to get a manual 50mm lens first to see if you like the focal length. I would also recommend the DA 35mm F2.4 it's just plastic fantastic.
Nowadays I seldom use my 50mm's and the DA 35mm is my walkaround lens choice since I often missed shots with my manual 50mm and I feel that 50mm is to long focal length, especially indoors.
Hope you will find this forum useful, I know I had, and still do

Cheers

Yos

Bonjour from France and welcome to PF ... J

Edit : my 35/2.4 spends a lot of time on the K-5 ... a great lens.

I second what Yos posted. I bought the 50mm & 35mm last year and the 35mm has become the lens that's on the camera most of the time. Both great lens for the $$, I'm glad I have both.

Thanks, I wasn't really set on a 50mm, just wanted a prime lens that would be good in low light, for portraits and such. I'll look for some used ones

I think I noticed someone selling a DA 50/1.8 in the marketplace. Congrats on the camera, and welcome to the forums.
