Woger says Howdy.

I have had a Pentax since 1968, bought on my second tour of Vietnam. My grandson now has the old Pentax and I am totally confused with my new K30.
I live in a medically assisted veterans apartment, luckily in Coffs Harbour, NSW, Australia........ Its called Gods Country. I spent nearly 20 years in Branson MO, USA. My dad was American.
I have joined a local camera club and after 5 months I have won .........nothing !
I bought a SanDisk Ultra 16GB and all I get is, Card is not formatted, even after following the manual directions on page 219. The camera works well with other older cards.......... Help !
In simple English please.
Cheers to all,
Woger.

Hi Woger

I have the same camera and the same card - so it should work. The cards usually come formatted right out of the box, so I agree - take it back from where it came from and get another!

If you're new to Digital SLRs but experienced in Pentax (your usage even pre-dates mine!) you're among many who are the same. Just search like crazy in this forum when you come to a problem, and chances are whatever you're experiencing has been asked about before.

You know a lot more than you think you know about your K30...a lot of the old principles and composition "rules" still apply. Just take it one little bit at a time and you'll get comfy with it in no time. Just play with it and make lots of mistakes in-camera and then delete them!

Howdy. Glad the card worked out. Does "Woger" rhyme with Roger, or logger, or ...?

In another life I was Woger the Wascally. A prankster of some note in the military and other places. Born Roger.

Really nice shots. I especially like how much beach you put in the first shot, really giving the image depth. And I really like the 3rd shot for its colour and capture of that ant. And that's a beautiful peninsula/island in the second shot - you captured it well.
